Do not fall into the Trap !

The Bible tells us in the first book of Timothy (1Timothy – Chapter 6 and verse 9) -  ‘But those wwho want to get rich fall into temptation and are caught in the trap of many foolish and harmful desires, which pull them down to ruin and destruction.’

Money is not a bad thing, the love of money is.   Very often we are not willing to wait in prayer for the things God want to give us, we are rather in a hurry.  Even when we do get some money, we want to spend it on things that are unnecessary and insignificant.  The desire to ‘keep up with the Jones’ is a very dangerous thing.   Many times we don’t realise that the people we are trying to compete with are themselves broke and are in deep down in debts.

It is best to keep away from habits that lead to more spending on our part.  It is wise to save a little whenever possible.   All things including money comes from God and it is a gift to us.  We need to therefore make use of what God gives us wisely.   The word of God tells us that if we are faithful in little, God will give us more to rule over.

In his  complete Computer Home Study Course, Terry Dean shares the truth about how God gives us the power to get wealth by sharing His wisdom with us every day. Terry went from over $50,000 in debt delivering pizzas for a living to being totally debt free and living in financial freedom. Find out more today about this course by clicking here

Why Ask in Prayer ?

The Bible tells us that we can go bolly to throne of Grace where we can obtain mercy and grace which will help us in times of need.   That means we can boldy go into God’s presence and ask anything we need.   The book of Luke in Chapter 11 mentions Jesus teaching the people on why we should ask in prayer.  Here he tells them – ‘So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks, it will be opened.  Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish, he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he ?  Of if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he.  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to  those who ask Him ?

Therefore if Jesus has said I can ask and expect my heavenly Father to bless me, why should I not come in prayer and ask what I need from God.  Of course, I need to ask in the name of Jesus because that is what Jesus himself called us to do.

Why Should We Pray ?

I came across a couple of beautiful verses from the Word of God today during my quite time.  This is from the first book of John (1John : Chapter 5 and verses 14 and 15)  -  We have courage in God’s presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will.  He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him.’

What an assurance this is to even think that our loving God can meet all our needs.   Remember, it mentions ‘according to his will’, not our will.  When we ask we must not ask according to our selfish needs.  God knows what our needs are and he will provide you these if we ask him in prayer.  For eg.  he will not answer your prayer if you want to win the next big world lottery jackpot.  Though we might want this to happen desperately, according to God, we might not be ready to receive such a large amount and we will be unable to use this much money wisely.

So its best to come to our Gods presence and ask him boldly without any doubt to meet our daily needs.

Claim Your Blessings

Receiving God’s blessings should be an uncomplicated and automated process. Unfortunately for many of us this becomes the most difficult task to achieve.

Imagine yourself for a moment winning the first prize in a competition. Now if you do not surrender your winning ticket and claim the prize, no one is going to give it to you on their own. If you do not claim it within a certain period then you have lost that opportunity.

Claim your blessings
God’s blessings are already given to you. You just need to claim this precious prize. Many are not even aware that they have won the prize ! In our daily running about in this world to make ends meet, we neglect to stop and think of what we have won. I want to stress to you again and again that God has already poured out His blessings on you. It is only when we begin to stop thinking negatively and cease to moan about our problems that we can begin to recognise our blessings.

Be Available for God
We need to spend quality time with God. To build up our relationship with Him. Do you spend time with Him ? Are you so caught up with your job, career, family, health etc. that you do not have time to come into His presence ? Let me tell you this Friend. If you do not give time to God, He will not give you time. Can you imagine what it will feel like when God tells you this. Its very scary. Therefore be available for him, spend some time with him, start with a few minutes everyday and then slowly increase the time. It will be difficult at first because your natural self tells you to forget about this and concentrate on your other activities instead. Or perhaps you are too sleepy in the morning to wake up 30 minutes earlier. But if you persevere and say NO to the devil, you will soon start to experience God’s blessings in your life.

Blessed with Bible Study

People take up Bible study for a lot of different reasons, and there is often debate about what the best one is. Some people join Bible study groups because of religious reasons. This is by far the most common purpose, but it is not the most scholarly one. Academics will claim that the study Bibles used by these groups are not meant to present the most accurate version of the text, but to advance a particular reading of it. Religious followers of Bible curriculum, meanwhile, argue that the academics are missing the whole point of the Bible – being inspired by the word of God. In my opinion, you don’t have to choose one approach or the other. The Bible is a fascinating manuscripts, whether you view it as the work of a single writer or many. It has interesting things to say, whether you think of it as primitive mythology or the word of God. In short, Bible studies offer something for everyone.

The first Bible study group I ever participated in was in college. I never really thought much about how to study the Bible. I figured I would just read it like any other book. Back then, I wasn’t particularly interested in historical context. I wanted to read the text for itself and see how it spoke to me.

The most comprehensive Bible study – if you have the time to do it – can be done by consulting several different interpretations at the same time. Doing your own research really gets you thinking about the text. When you don’t really have the time to do your own research, however, letting other scholars present a condensed version is the next best thing. Study Bibles help many people get a better grasp on the text, distilling the essential meaning when it might not be clear to the modern reader.

Welcome to Staying Blessed !

God has already blessed us abundantly. Then why do most of us not experience that blessing. Are they in some dark corner of the world that we cannot access ? No, in fact they are within your reach and available 24/7. How do you get this access ? Its simply with one word – FAITH.

All things are possible through HIM
The bible tells us that with faith we can move mountains. How true this is. Though it seems impossible it is indeed achievable. Its the simple matter of having that faith in our God and believing that all things are possible through Him. I am not talking about moving mountains right now. Lets only concentrate on the little issues that we encounter in our day to day life first. For instance, getting fed up with your job situation, worried about your ever increasing debts, frustrated because you cannot find a trustworthy life partner. Lets look at these examples in the positive mindset. Lets believe that your job situation has dramatically improved and you now cannot wait to go to work on Monday, or that your finances have miraculously come under control and your debts are getting reduced and going to soon disappear, or you have found the perfect life partner you always dreamed about.
